Downtown and the expressway web
I-95 cuts through downtown, SR-836 runs east-west to the airport corridor, and SR-826 ties the north side together. In the downtown grid a cross street plus the one-way direction you are on matters — and in a garage or under a building, the clearance height is the first thing dispatch will ask.
Neighborhood streets
Outside the core, Miami’s residential neighborhoods still run on the numbered grid — a street-and-avenue pair beats any landmark when you call, and a WhatsApp pin handles the cases where the address is hard to describe.
Practical notes for a Miami call
Miami calls come in every shape: high-rise garages downtown, neighborhood streets in the districts, expressway shoulders on I-95 and SR-836. Whatever the setting, the answer is the same — tell dispatch the exact block or garage, the vehicle’s condition, and whether anything is blocking traffic around it.
Different calls for different Miamis
Miami is not one kind of call. Downtown and Brickell mean parking garages — clearance height, level, the entrance street — and shoulder stops on I-95 and SR-836 where direction and exit number do all the work. The residential districts mean straightforward curb pickups on the numbered grid. Whatever the setting, the call starts with the same three facts: where the vehicle is exactly, what it is doing, and where it needs to end up. The rest is dispatch’s problem, and at roughly 29 miles the drive in is the part you cannot hurry.

Questions from Miami drivers
How far is Miami from your base?
Under normal conditions, 50–80 minutes, sometimes less off-peak. Dispatch gives the real ETA on the call.
Can you tow from a downtown parking garage?
Yes — tell dispatch the garage entrance, the clearance height and which floor the car is on. A truck that fits is sent; if it cannot reach, the dispatcher says so on the call.
Which part of Miami do you cover?
All of Miami — give the cross street nearest I-95 and the unit comes straight to the block.
