English or Spanish — a real arrival window and price on the call.

South Miami is a compact city along US-1 just south of Coral Gables. Its small size means every call is a short hop off the highway corridor. The city is compact enough that every address sits within a few blocks of US-1 or Red Road.

Between US-1 and Red Road

US-1 forms South Miami’s eastern edge and SW 57th Avenue (Red Road) runs through it north-south. Breakdowns here are typically curbside or in one of the small commercial lots — the street address or nearest corner is all dispatch needs.

Next to the SR-826 junction

SR-826’s southern terminus sits just northeast of the city. If you are heading toward the expressway when the car quits, note whether you are on the ramp, the surface street or US-1 — the approach differs.

Practical notes for a South Miami call

South Miami’s streets are short and its blocks are small, so pinpointing a spot is easy — the nearest corner does it. The only wrinkle is the SR-826 junction at the northeast corner: if you are heading for the expressway ramps when the car dies, say ‘by the 826 entrance’ and dispatch will route accordingly.

A two-mile city

South Miami covers barely over two square miles, so no call inside it is complicated: US-1 on the east, SW 57th Avenue through it, SW 62nd Avenue on the west and Sunset Drive (SW 72nd Street) through the middle. The only calls that need care are at the northeast corner, where SR-826 ends — there, saying ‘near the 826 ramps’ versus ‘on US-1’ changes the approach. Everywhere else, the nearest corner is a complete answer.
